GENERAL

What is the Mitsubishi Electric Classic presented by Vensure?

The Mitsubishi Electric Classic presented by Vensure takes place each spring at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Georgia. It proudly stands as a premier golf tournament on the PGA TOUR Champions, but the event is much more than just golf. Through the Gwinnett Championship Foundation, Inc., the tournament has raised over $5.75 million for local charities since its debut in 2013.

Do I need to be a golfer or have prior golf knowledge to volunteer?

No! Many volunteer committees do not require any golf experience or knowledge. We welcome anyone who wants to help make the event a success.

What charities does the Mitsubishi Electric Classic presented by Vensure benefit?

Why should I volunteer at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic presented by Vensure?

Our volunteers are essential to keeping every part of the tournament running smoothly.
By volunteering, you’ll enjoy:

What is the time commitment for a volunteer?

We ask volunteers to work a minimum of three (3) shifts during the tournament. Each shift typically lasts 4–6 hours, and we request that at least one shift be scheduled during tournament week.

VOLUNTEER PACKAGE & UNIFORM

What is included in the volunteer package?

Your committee selection will determine which volunteer package you should choose when registering.  For full details about the available packages, visit our Volunteer Registration page.

Can I purchase extra volunteer items?
Yes. You can buy additional uniform items:
  • During volunteer registration
  • Later through your volunteer account
  • On-site at the end of tournament week
    • What is the volunteer uniform?
    Each volunteer receives a Mitsubishi Electric Classic presented by Vensure (MEC) logoed golf shirt as part of the volunteer uniform package. During your shifts, please wear:
  • 2026 MEC provided shirt
  • 2026 MEC provided headwear
  • 2026 Credential badge on MEC provided lanyard
  • Khaki bottoms — pants, shorts, skorts, or capris
  • Comfortable, closed-toe shoes
    • Where and when do I pick up my uniform and credential?

    Uniform and credential distribution will be held at PGA TOUR Superstore Sugarloaf on:

    • Saturday, April 18 – 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
    • Sunday, April 19 – 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM

    Further details will be sent to the email address you used when registering.

    If you are unable to attend one of the distribution days, you can pick up your uniform and credential at the Uniform Trailer during tournament week (April 20-26).

    We also offer an optional $30 shipping add-on at checkout. If selected, your uniform package will ship in late March to early April so it arrives before the tournament.

    TOURNAMENT

    Where do I park for my shift? Is there handicap parking available?

    Volunteer parking information will be shared closer to the tournament. Details will be emailed to the address you used to register.

    What do I do with my belongings during my shift? What should I bring with me?
    There is no designated storage area for volunteers’ personal items. We recommend:
  • Bringing the clear drawstring backpack provided
  • Keeping only essentials with you
    • Helpful items to bring:
  • Sunscreen
  • MEC headwear
  • Water & snacks
  • Rain gear (weather-dependent)
    • Cell phones are allowed but must remain in silent mode during your shift.
    Are there designated hotels and discounted rates for tournament volunteers?

    Yes. The Gwinnett Sports Commission helps secure special volunteer hotel rates near TPC Sugarloaf. These options will be sent to you via our volunteer Eblast well in advance, so you have time to book.

    Are meals provided? Is there a designated place to take lunch / a break and / or grab water?

    Yes! Volunteers will receive breakfast and/or lunch for each shift worked.

    • Meals are available in the Volunteer Center (where shuttles drop off/pick up).
    • Volunteers working out on the course can grab a cold sandwich, chips, and fruit to take with them.

    Can I be scheduled to work with my spouse or friend?

    Your Committee Chairmen will do their best to honor special requests. Please reach out to your chairman directly to request pairing.

    Can I take photographs or ask for autographs?

    Please refrain from taking photos or asking for autographs during your shift. When you’re off duty, feel free to enjoy the tournament and snap photos as a spectator.

    Where do I go to report for my assigned volunteer shift?

    Shuttle buses from volunteer parking will drop you off at Volunteer Headquarters (HQ). From there, your Committee Chairman will provide specific check-in instructions and the exact meeting location for your committee.

    REGISTRATION

    When does volunteer registration open?

    Volunteer registration opens in early November each year. Specific dates are announced via our social media channels.  For details about the program and to register, visit our Volunteer Registration page.

    I volunteered last year; do I need to register again for the upcoming year?

    Yes. Even if you volunteered in the past, you must register each year to participate.

    Is there an age requirement to volunteer?

    For most volunteer committees, the minimum age requirement is 18 years old, with some committees requiring volunteers to be 21 or 25.

    For younger volunteers, we recommend joining the Standard Bearer Committee, which welcomes participants starting at age 13.

    Why is there a fee to register as a volunteer?
    Volunteers are essential to the success of a PGA TOUR Champions event — helping to create an outstanding experience for players, fans, and the community. The registration fee helps cover important costs such as:
  • Volunteer uniforms
  • Meals during shifts
  • Credentials and access
  • Other support resources
    • By offsetting these expenses, the tournament can direct more proceeds to local charities and community initiatives, maximizing its impact.  Your contribution as a volunteer truly makes a difference both on and off the course.

    COMMITTEES

    What committees are available to volunteer for?

    There’s a committee for everyone — from Communication, Hospitality, Marshaling, Player Services, Scoring, Tournament Services, to Volunteer Services.  For full descriptions of each committee and their roles, visit our Committee Descriptions page.

    How will I know what committee I am assigned to and what shifts I am working?
    After you complete volunteer registration, you’ll be assigned to a committee.
  • We do our best to honor your preferences, but spots fill quickly, so register early.
  • Once assigned, you’ll receive an email with details about your committee.
  • Your Committee Chairman will contact you directly with your schedule, and you can also view it anytime in your volunteer account.
    • What training can I expect to receive for my committee assignment?

    Training varies by committee. Your Committee Chairman will provide all training details and instructions specific to your assignment before the tournament.
