DULUTH, GA (July 9, 2024) – Tournament officials of the Mitsubishi Electric Classic presented by Vensure announced today that the 2024 tournament has raised and donated $876,309 to various local charities through the Gwinnett Championship Foundation, Inc.  Georgia’s only PGA TOUR Champions event has now donated more than $5 million to benefit Gwinnett County and Metro Atlanta area organizations since 2013.

“At Mitsubishi Electric, our purpose is to create a vibrant society through every aspect of our business,” says Mike Corbo, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Electric US Inc. “The Mitsubishi Electric Classic is not only an excellent golf tournament, but it also gives us the opportunity to contribute to impactful organizations that serve the local community.”

This year, the Mitsubishi Electric Classic presented by Vensure selected Cink Charities and Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett as its primary charitable beneficiaries.

Tournament host Stewart Cink and his wife Lisa hosted the Stewart Cink Monday Pro-Am presented by Kia to raise funds and awareness for several local charitable organizations they continue to support in the greater Gwinnett area.

The Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett celebrated its 37th year of serving both school-aged children and young adults in 2024. The nonprofit has touched the lives of hundreds of area families through its specialized educational environment. Portions of this year’s tournament donations will go towards the recently announced capital campaign as they prepare to expand the school’s current campus.

Additionally, thru this year’s Folds of Honor Friday initiative, Folds of Honor will receive funds to award 15+ life-changing scholarships to local Georgia families of fallen or disabled U.S. service members and first responders. Together, we can ensure their educational dreams live on, and their hero’s legacy is never forgotten.

“The Mitsubishi Electric Classic continues to be an event whose impact extends beyond the course,” said Ashley Hamilton, senior tournament director of the Mitsubishi Electric Classic presented by Vensure. “We are thankful for the incredible support from the greater Gwinnett community, and we are proud to contribute more than $876,000 back into it to support our nonprofit beneficiaries.”
